The Ultimate Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport (elevation: 55 meters), you’ll be greeted by our tour team. We’ll transport you to your hotel, where you can rest and refresh. In the afternoon, we’ll gather to meet your motorcycle, mechanic, and driver, and you’ll receive a briefing on the tour. Get ready to embark on this thrilling journey!

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast, we begin our ride from Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park. We’ll ride along the banks of the Brahmaputra River, a scenic route that first follows a main highway before transitioning to smaller, paved and unpaved roads. The terrain is varied, with sections through villages and lush green landscapes. By evening, we arrive at our accommodation near the park, where we will spend the night.

Day 3

Optional: Early morning safari in Kaziranga National Park, home to the famous one-horned rhinos and Bengal tigers. The park’s unique biodiversity includes wild water buffalo, elephants, and various species of birds. After the safari, we ride towards Jorhat, a historical town known for its tea estates and Ahom Kingdom heritage. We’ll explore some local monuments, visit tea plantations, and enjoy a cup of Assam tea. The ride to Jorhat takes us through the picturesque countryside, and we’ll rest in a comfortable hotel for the night.

Day 4

Today, we head to Dibrugarh, passing through Majuli Island, the world’s largest river island. To reach Majuli, we’ll take a ferry across the Brahmaputra River (approximately 30 minutes), followed by a ride across the island’s unique terrain. Majuli is home to Hindu monks practicing Vaishnavism and several indigenous tribes. After exploring Majuli’s temples and culture, we continue to Dibrugarh, one of Assam’s major cities known for its tea gardens. You can visit a botanical garden or simply relax along the Brahmaputra River before retiring for the night.

Day 5

We leave Dibrugarh early in the morning, heading towards Mon in Nagaland. The landscape gradually shifts from plains to the hilly terrain of Nagaland as we climb toward the Tizit Plateau (elevation: 900 meters). The roads here are challenging, often unpaved and narrow, but the views of the Naga Hills are breathtaking. Mon is home to the KonyakNagas, known for their warrior traditions and headhunting history. Tonight, we stay in basic accommodations, immersing ourselves in the traditional culture of this fascinating region.

Day 6

Today, we take a short ride to Longwa Village, located near the India-Myanmar border. Here, we’ll meet the village chief and learn about traditional practices, including opium production. Longwa is famous for its tattooed women and the tribal community’s warrior history. After our visit, we return to Mon for the evening. This area provides a rare glimpse into the life of one of the most culturally preserved tribes in India.

Day 7

After breakfast, we begin our journey towards Mokokchung, riding through Nagaland’s beautiful mountain landscape. This area is largely untouched by modernity, and you’ll experience stunning views of the rugged hills and remote villages. Mokokchung, located at an altitude of 1,325 meters, is the cultural center of the Ao tribe, famous for their dances and rich traditions. If time permits, we’ll visit Unmga Village, the largest Ao village. We’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Mokokchung.

Day 8

We continue westward towards Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. The ride takes us through a series of mountain passes, with a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Kohima (elevation: 1,444 meters) is inhabited by several Naga tribes, and its history is deeply rooted in the World War II battle between the British and Japanese forces. We’ll stay in a pleasant hotel for two nights, giving us a chance to explore the city.

Day 9

Today, we take a short ride to Khonoma Village, home to the Angami tribe. This village is historically significant, as it was the site of fierce resistance against the British in 1879. At the end of the village is a memorial site honoring the many Nagas who lost their lives in the rebellion. We’ll also visit Kisama Village, the venue for the famous Hornbill Festival, where we can observe traditional Naga architecture. After exploring, we return to Kohima for the night.

Day 10

We leave Nagaland and head to Imphal, the capital of Manipur, situated at an altitude of 800 meters. The ride today is relatively short, allowing us to explore Imphal in the afternoon. We’ll visit Ima Keithel, the unique all-women’s market, and the War Cemetery, commemorating soldiers from both the British and Japanese forces during World War II. Later, we take a scenic ride to Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in eastern India, known for its floating islands.

Day 11

Today, we ride through mountainous roads and remote villages on our way to Silchar, a small town in Assam, located at a low altitude of 60 meters. The roads here are often unpaved, winding through hills with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This will be a long, tiring ride, but the rugged beauty of the area makes it worth the effort. We will rest in a simple guesthouse in Silchar.

Day 12

Today, we head towards Shillong, also known as the “Scotland of the East”. The ride takes us back into the mountains, with several narrow, winding roads offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Upon reaching Shillong (elevation: 1,500 meters), we can visit Elephant Falls and explore the town’s British-inspired architecture. Shillong is known for its cool climate and breathtaking natural beauty, making it an ideal place to unwind.

Day 13

Enjoy a full day in Shillong. You can visit Barapani Lake for kayaking or pedal boating, explore the unique Don Bosco Museum, or stroll through Phan Nonglait Park. The colorful Bara Bazaar is a great spot to shop for local handicrafts and souvenirs.

Day 14

We ride back to Guwahati, where our journey began. The ride today is short but scenic. Upon arrival, we visit the Maa Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in Hinduism, offering panoramic views of the Brahmaputra River.

Day 15

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport for your departure, marking the end of this extraordinary motorcycle adventure.
